Welcome to 486Net

486Net is designed to bring back the Internet of yesteryear for a few reasons including, but not limited to, having a speedy web experience,
bringing a form of Internet to computers as old as the 386-based machines, and for the nostalgic feel of plaintext information!
486Net is coded entirely in HTML, so there isn't a need to worry about compatibility. This is a strictly-HTML project, so expect the pages to be pretty basic.
Still, this has another added benefit: the load time is greatly reduced for older computers with slower processors and less available system resources.
Another added benefit of this, assuming you haven't already guessed, is that literally every browser will work with this network.

Something you should do, especially if you're on Netscape 4, is to change the font sizes from their default settings to 15. That way the text won't look like ants. Of course, this is all your personal preference, but we do recommend disabling CSS when you'd rather not use it, as the older browsers are a bit... bad at rendering it.
